Bathroom Interior Design
I thought that I would write about some of my past Juby clients, so you would have a greater understanding of my role as an Interior Designer. This job is a bathroom redesign to make it teenager friendly. ( The link is in relation to Stepfamilies and offers support and advice)
Mr & Mrs H contacted me as they needed help with their family bathroom. It was an extremely busy household both parents working with 2 teenage children.
The existing bathroom was worn out, to say the least. It was a good size room but seemed to be extremely dark. Which isn’t good for a bathroom on lots of levels.
Bathroom before pictures.
I hope you like the transformation.
This was going to be the bathroom for the teenagers. So it had to be light modern airy and robust, ready for a hard days work! As the teenagers preferred to shower we increased the cubicle size to make it more comfortable. But used an adequate extractor fan and light to cover the cubicle area. I had recommended panels rather than tiles as this would be easier to clean.
We used Amtico on the floor as its harder wearing but still warm underfoot.
Storage was one of their requirements. So using fitted bathroom furniture gave them that solution, so everything could be put away so it was easier to clean.
The walls were then painted using bathroom paint in a soft grey to add some colour but without absorbing too much light. Woodwork and ceilings were then painted white to keep the clean fresh look.
The radiator was replaced with a modern towel radiator to create a modern look and for practical reasons for drying towels.
