I thought that I would write about some of my past Juby clients, so you would have a greater understanding of my role as an Interior Designer.
Mr & Mrs H contacted me for the third time, as they needed help with their hall, stairs, landing, cloakroom & dining room.
They are busy people both working with two teenage children, that I had already redesigned a bathroom and ensuite. hall stairs and landing is, of course, the area of your home that deals with the greatest traffic so it needs to be hard-wearing, practical but to be pleasant to look at whilst you pass through.
The H family hated the colour of the bannister in the hall. Their house was built in the 1980s when cherry wood was extremely fashionable. So the cherry wood had to go.
So after looking at an array of colours. We decided to use a muted palette with a twist for interest
The stairs & landing carpet was where we started with as our feature for the area. The carpet selected is Quirky B, Margo Selby (I just love it) For the hallway, cloakroom and dining room floor I had chosen a hard flooring laid in Amtico parquet design in French Oak.
To lose the cheery wood colour on the bannisters the decorator stained it in walnut, which pulled the colour out from the carpet perfectly.
I hope you like the finish. Mr & Mrs H had been away whilst we worked on this project. So when they returned it was completed and so different they were over the moon.
